    Investor AB history, profile and corporate video

       Investor AB is a Swedish investment and conglomerate holding company headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. It was founded by the Wallenberg family in Stockholm in 1916 when new Swedish legislation made it more difficult for banks to own stocks in industrial companies on a long-term basis. The shareholdings of the family bank, Stockholms Enskilda Bank (SEB), were transferred to Investor AB, a newly formed industrial holding company spun out of the bank.


       The company’s investments are divided into Listed Companies, Patricia Industries, or Investments in EQT.

       The company owns significant minority stakes in its listed companies and is typically the largest shareholder.

    • ABB – power and automation technology
    • AstraZeneca – pharmaceuticals
    • SEB – banking
    • Epiroc – mining equipment
    • Ericsson – telecommunications
    • Swedish Orphan Biovitrum (sobi) – biopharmaceutical company
    • Nasdaq – stock and securities exchange
    • Saab – aviation and military technology
    • Electrolux – consumer appliances
    • Husqvarna – outdoor power tools, chainsaws, lawnmowers and robotic mowers
    • Wärtsilä – marine and power engine development
    Patricia Industries

       Patricia Industries’ key focus is to invest in and develop wholly-owned companies with long-term growth potential.

    • Mölnlycke – a global medical technology company
    • Permobil – powered and manual wheelchairs as well as cushions and accessories
    • Laborie – capital equipment for the urology and gastroenterology sectors
    • Sarnova – distributor of healthcare products for the emergency preparedness and acute care markets
    • Piab – a provider of gripping and moving solutions for automated manufacturing and logistics processes
    • BraunAbility – global manufacturer of automotive mobility products
    • Vectura – Develops, owns and manages real estate with a long-term focus on community service, office and hotels
    • The Grand Group – consists of two of the most prominent Stockholm hotels: Grand Hôtel and the neighboring Lydmar Hotel
    • 3 Scandinavia – Provides mobile voice and broadband services in Sweden and Denmark
    • Financial Investments – consist of European, Asian and North American investments that are a part of an Investor Growth Capital legacy portfolio

       With more than 20 000 employees, Investor AB is considered one of the top 2000 largest public companies in the world, according to Forbes.
