       Comcast Corp. is an American media, entertainment and communications conglomerate headquartered Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It was founded in 1963 as Comcast Holdings, when Ralph J. Roberts together with his two business partners, Daniel Aaron and Julian A. Brodsky, purchased American Cable Systems, a small cable operator in Tupelo, Mississippi.

       The company starts to do their business as Comcast Corporation from 1969 and over the years Comcast owns a considerable number of divisions and subsidiaries that operate through different segments, such as Xfinity, NBCUniversal, SKY, Comcast Business, and Other Businesses.

    Xfinity

    With Xfinity (xFi, Mobile, Home, Voice, Flex, X1, and Stream), Comcast provides Internet, TV, voice, mobile, and home management.

    NBCUniversal

    Through NBCUniversal, Comcast operates a valuable portfolio of businesses such as NBC Entertainment, Universal Filmed Entertainment (DreamWorks Animation, Universal Pictures, etc.), Universal Parks & Resorts, Cable Entertainment (SYFY, Bravo, E! etc.), News (NBC News, MSNBC, CNBC), Sports (NBC Sports, NBC Olympics, etc.), Digital (peacock, Hulu, Bluprint, etc.), NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, and others.

    Sky

    Through Sky, which is one of Europe’s leading media and entertainment companies, Comcast offers TV, broadband, products, and mobile to its customers and subscribers across several European countries.

    Comcast Business

    Comcast Business allows Comcast to offers Ethernet, Internet, WiFi, Voice, TV and Managed Enterprise Solutions for organizations of all sizes.

    Other Businesses

    The Other Businesses segment involves Comcast Ventures, Comcast Technology Solutions, and Comcast Spectacor.


       With more than 180 000 employees, Comcast Corporation is considered the largest cable TV and home Internet service provider in the U.S., and the nation’s third-largest home telephone service provider. Also, according to Forbes, it is considered to be the second-largest broadcasting and cable television company in the world by revenue and one of America’s Largest Public Companies.
